Welcome to the official Specular documentation!
Specular is an intent-driven L2, designed to enable the operation of next-generation intent-based dApps in a secure, trust-minimized fashion. To achieve this, the protocol enables intent-driven block building, EVM-native execution and secure settlement—backed by a trust-minimized proof system.
This work is a product of academic research conducted at RDI (UC Berkeley), and is supported by contributions from Factor and grants from the Ethereum Foundation.
Can I start using Specular today?
Yes, our Specular testnet is live on Ethereum Sepolia and you can currently try it out!
From connecting your wallet to swapping some Test tokens on the network, we encourage you to test out Specular's performance. Here are some of the things you can do:
Connect your favorite wallet and bridge Sepolia ETH over to Specular
Swap your Specular ETH for one of our test tokens on the DEX
Deploy your first dAPP contract on the network using different technologies
Deploy an ERC20 token
